First time in a Hostel and had a great experience. Also compared it to the hostels downtown and felt we made the right choice. Felt totally safe and had a lot of fun. Thanks for everything!

There are no keys or cards to get into an doom room. Its all just come and go as you please. If you are arriving at night - understand that you have to walk down a poorly light street with wooded land on both sides of you for quite a ways without signs. Best to locate it in the daytime. The dorm rooms are huge and not quiet. Everyone snored and it echoed so much! Breakfast is expensive and not good.

great staff. as others have mentioned, location is not one of it's strong points, though the beach is right there, nothing else is. if you're looking to party, go to one of the other hostels downtown. this is a place to relax.

If you are wanting a taste of the suburban Vancouver experience, then you should definitely consider a night or two at this 19th century military barracks. It has a great little walk to the beach for a fabulous view of the downtown Vancouver skyline, and the walk up 4th Avenue into the Kitsilano neighborhood will not leave you disappointed. Not only are these some of the local attractions, but the hostel itself is very accomadating with a cafe and helpful staff. This would be a perfect mix wit

We could not afford to visit in Vancouver with my son at UBC without this hostel. The beach location is great and it offers some valuable travel experience/training to the other kids. Could use some upkeep, but understand with the rates. The cafe is also a hit and starts my day with someone with a smile and good food.
